Proper care for cast iron cookware, however, must be observed. It is not advisable to clean them using a dishwasher or a scouring tool, since this will damage the cookware itself and remove the “seasoning” of the bare cast iron cookware. While not really prone to food deposits, cast iron cookware can be cleaned with mild soap and water, should grease prove to be quite difficult to remove from it.
